As expected, Yasiel Puig has been suspended by Major League Baseball for his role in Tuesday night’s benches-clearing fight with the Giants.
The punishment will be two games due to inciting the incident with Nick Hundley. Puig will also be fined, as well as Hundley.
The fight took place in the bottom of the seventh, and essentially came out of nowhere.

Yasiel Puig (via interpreter): “(Hundley) told me to stop complaining and step back in the box ... he just kept coming after me and kept complaining. I wasn’t going to let them disrespect our house.”

Unless appealed, the suspension will begin Friday night when the Dodgers travel to Seattle. Most likely, Puig will appeal his suspension, thus making him eligible to play until a final decision is made.
