Player of the day

Cristian Santana was off with the rest of his team but he will get the award as he was named the California League Player of the Week. Santana hit .429 with three home runs and 11 runs batted in during the six games played.

Santana was the fourth consecutive Quake to be named Player of the Week. Cody Thomas, Jared Walker and Carlos Rincon had been given the same honor in the prior three weeks.

Triple-A Oklahoma City

The Dodgers did not play on Monday. They will host the Omaha Storm Chasers (Royals) for a series starting today.

Double-A Tulsa

The Drillers had an off-day on Monday. They start a series today against the Arkansas Travelers (Mariners).

Class-A Rancho Cucamonga

The Quakes were off on Monday. They begin a series tonight against the Lancaster JetHawks (Rockies).

Class-A Great Lakes

The Loons lost 4-3 to the South Bend Cubs on Monday. The Cubs scored three unearned runs in the third inning and then added one more in the fourth to take a 4-0 lead.

The Loons had their best opportunity to tie the game in the eighth. With the bases loaded and no outs, Hunter Feduccia doubled home two runs. Chris Roller hit a sacrifice fly to make it 4-3.

But then the Cubs were able to retired the next two batters with the tying run on second.

In the ninth inning, the Loons put the tying run on second with two outs. But they were unable to get one final big hit as Luke Heyer grounded out to end the game.

Pioneer-Rookie Ogden

The Raptors scored three runs in three straight innings and went on to beat the Great Falls Voyagers (White Sox) 9-8 on Monday.

Trailing 7-6 in the bottom of the seventh, the Raptors got runners on first and second with one out. Marcus Chiu hit his first home run as a Raptor to make it 9-7.

Matt Cogen went 3-for-3 and Kenneth Betancourt and Chiu each had two hits.

Justin Bruihi got the win and Reza Aleaziz picked up his first save.

Arizona-Rookie AZL Dodgers

The AZL Dodgers scored eight runs in the seventh inning and were able to defeat the AZL Padres One 11-6. The big play in that inning was an error with the bases loaded that allowed all four runners to score that made the score 10-2.

Leonel Valera and Jair Camargo each had three hits. Jeremiah Vison, Frank Sanchez and Meaux Landry each had two hits apiece.
