Rancho Cucamonga swept their second straight series to extend winning streak to seven games. Great Lakes came back with two outs in the ninth inning. Ogden and AZL Dodgers also won.
However Oklahoma City and Tulsa lost their games and their playoff races got a little tighter.
Player of the day
Cristian Santana went 4-for-5 on Monday with two runs scored and two doubles. Santana is tied for the California League lead with 24 home runs and leads the league with 106 runs batted in.
Triple-A Oklahoma City
The Dodgers were beaten 7-0 by the Colorado Springs Sky Sox (Brewers) on Monday. The win gave the Sky Sox a split in the four-game series.
Brock Stewart took the loss, he gave up three runs in five innings pitched. Josh Fields made his second straight appearance and he gave up two solo home runs.
Zach McAllister made his first appearance with Oklahoma City and he gave up two runs and two hits in one inning pitched.
The Dodgers were held to five hits and they went 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position.
Double-A Tulsa
The Drillers fell short in their 5-3 loss to the Springfield Cardinals. Jacob Scavuzzo and Errol Robinson each hit home runs but the Drillers did not do much else at the plate.
Dustin May made the start for the Drillers and he was not as sharp as he had been in his last few starts. May gave up five runs and nine hits in 5⅔ innings pitched.
May was not helped by his offense who had three other hits besides the two home runs hit.
The Drillers will begin a five-game series against the Northwest Arkansas Naturals at home on Tuesday. That series could be the one that decides who wins the second half title.
Class-A Rancho Cucamonga
The Quakes may have ended the Inland Empire 66ers (Angels) playoff hopes as they finished their four-game sweep with a 10-1 win on Monday night. The loss put the 66ers three games behind the Lancaster JetHawks with seven games left in the season.
Meanwhile, the Quakes extended their winning streak to seven games, they won their 82nd game of the year and they went 31 games over .500 in the second half with a 47-16 record.
Julio Urias made his fourth appearance with the Quakes and he pitched two scoreless innings. Urias struck out four and walked two.
LHP Julio Urias is done after two complete innings tonight with Rancho.

Final Line: 2 IP, 0R, 0H, 2BB’s, 4K’s — 35 pitches, 21 strikes — touched 93 MPH with fastball.
While unconfirmed, it’s very likely the next time we see Urias it’ll be in a #Dodgers uniform.
Isaac Anderson followed Urias and he pitched six innings. Anderson gave up six hits and one run. Jordan Sheffield continued his work out of the bullpen with one scoreless inning where he gave up two hits and had one strikeout.
The Quakes jumped out in front with back-to-back three run innings. With two out in the first and the bases loaded, Connor Wong cleared the bases with a triple. In the second inning, it was Carlos Rincon who came up with the bases loaded and two out. Rincon doubled in all three runners.
Jeren Kendall hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning. Cristian Santana went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and two doubles.
Class-A Great Lakes
The Loons were down by a run with two outs in the ninth inning. It looked like the West Michigan Whitecaps (Tigers) would salvage one game in this series.
Chris Roller then singled home the tying run. After an intentional walk, Jacob Amaya got an infield hit to break the tie. The bases were still loaded and Drew Avans singled to center.
The single scored two runs and an error in the outfield allowed Amaya to score and make it 6-2.
Melvin Jiminez struck out the side to end the game. Jiminez has pitched 31 innings out of the bullpen since his return to the team. In those innings, he has struck out 38 and walked 10.
Some notes on the #Loons' win tonight:
— Chris Vosters (@CJVosters) August 28, 2018
-It's the 20th win in a month for the third time in franchise history (August 2009, July 2010)
-It's the second four-game sweep over West Michigan ever (first on the road)
-The magic number for a playoff spot is down to 2⃣!#Dodgers #MiLB
Pioneer-Rookie Ogden
The Raptors beat the Orem Owlz (Angels) 6-1 in the opener of their series. Four Raptor pitchers combined to give up one run and seven hits. They also combined to strike out 12 and have only one walk.
James Outman went 2-for-3 with two home runs and three runs batted in. Jon Littell also had two hits.
Arizona-Rookie AZL Dodgers
The AZL Dodgers held on to beat the AZL White Sox 4-2 to finish their season with a 37-18 record. The Arizona League has not announced their playoff schedule yet but it seems likely the AZL Dodgers will not play until the second day of the playoffs.
