The Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday activated right-handed pitcher John Axford from the 10-day disabled list and left-handed pitcher Tony Cingrani from the 60-day disabled list, and recalled right-handed pitcher Yimi Garcia from Single-A Rancho Cucamonga.
Axford has been on the disabled list since August 14, missing 30 games due to a fractured right fibula. Since being acquired from the Blue Jays on July 31, the 35-year-old has appeared in three games with Los Angeles, allowing six runs over 3 1⁄3 innings while striking out four.
Cingrani, who missed the last 89 games with a left shoulder strain, posted a 4.84 ERA in 28 relief appearances with the Dodgers this season while striking out 36 hitters in 22 1⁄3 innings.
Fresh off his stint with High-A Rancho Cucamonga where he pitched in the Cal League playoffs, Garcia makes his way back to the team for the third time this season. The 28-year-old owns a 5.57 ERA in 22 relief appearances this season, allowing 17 runs (13 earned) while striking out 17 against three walks.
To make room on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers transferred right-handed pitcher Daniel Hudson to the 60-day disabled list (right forearm tightness).
