Dodgers avoid arbitration with seven players

MLB: World Series-Houston Astros at Los Angeles Dodgers Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

On Friday, the Dodgers went out and acquired catcher Russell Martin. Lost in the frenzy of this trade news, they avoided arbitration with seven players.

These players include Corey Seager, Joc Pederson, Chris Taylor, Kike Hernandez, Josh Fields, Pedro Baez and Yimi Garcia.

Per AP, the agreed salaries are as followed:

Joc Pederson $5 million

Corey Seager $4 million

Kiké Hernandez $3.725 million

Chris Taylor $3.5 million

Josh Fields $2.85 million

Pedro Baez $2.1 million

Yimi Garcia $710,000

Friday was the deadline for the Dodgers and these arbitration-eligible players to submit salaries for the purposes of arbitration hearings. The Dodgers have a team policy of not negotiating further if an agreement is not reached by that deadline.
