Game 5 eve.

MLB: NLDS-Los Angeles Dodgers at Washington Nationals Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Well, the Dodgers lost on Monday night, forcing NLDS Game 5. You can read the TBLA game recap here.

Here is what Dodgers manager Dave Roberts had to say after the game.

Dodgers’ left-handed one out guy Adam Kolarek, is productive for the team so far, but is this LOOGY gig a dying profession?

The rule change next season forcing pitchers to face at least three batters before being removed figures to endanger -- if not outright eliminate -- specialist types like Kolarek.

Perhaps the Dodgers would be willing to let him try his hand against right-handers again, but his past results don’t bode well for his future job security.

The New York Yankees advanced to the ALCS, but their opponent is not yet decided. Our friends at Pinstripe Alley analyzed the win that advanced the Yankees to the championship series.

The Astros — for the second time — are looking to clinch the ALCS on Tuesday and pitcher Justin Verlander insists on starting the game. Which is exactly what he is going to do.

Meanwhile, MLB commissioner Rob Manfred is making it clear that the A’s don’t have to be in Oakland.

Manfred made it clear to Oakland officials that the A’s proposed waterfront ballpark and the team’s desire to develop at the Coliseum is an “all in one” proposition — and that the city needs to drop its lawsuit over the Coliseum land sale to the A’s or risk the team relocating to another city.

And apparently, everyone got the message.
