The Dodgers saw an offensive explosion on Saturday night, dominating the Arizona Diamondbacks, 18-5.
In Dodgers news...
Joc Pederson added on to his season home run tally. You can read more about his hot start and watch it here.
In just the third game of the season, we saw a position player pitch.
*takes deep breath*

The Dodgers’ catcher forgot to give his catcher a handshake after delivering the final out of the game. Oops!

More history was made at Dodger Stadium on Saturday evening.
Saturday was the 1st time in the history of Dodger Stadium where both teams hit a leadoff home run (Jarrod Dyson, Joc Pederson).

And can we all just take a second to appreciate Cody Bellinger.

Lastly, these two stories are not game-related, but still Dodgers-related. A fight broke out outside Dodger Stadium after the six-hour game and Dodgers attempt to honor woman killed by a foul ball last year, but her husband refuses to accept until the organization makes more drastic safety changes.
Around the league...
MLB.com’s Todd Zolecki wrote a very descriptive piece about Bryce Harper’s first home run on the Phillies.
Also on MLB.com, Mike Petriello talks about several things to take away from the 2019 season. He mentions division opponents, Fernando Tatis Jr.’s speed and Madison Bumgarner’s power at the plate.
The Dodgers aren’t the only ones making history on Opening Week. Reigning National League MVP is the first player in Brewers history to hit a home run in each of the first three games of the season. ESPN has the story.
I’ll just leave this here for you to digest:
Don't sell yourself short, @ChristianYelich. You're on pace for 162.
