The Los Angeles Dodgers placed catcher Russell Martin on the 10-day injured list with lower back inflammation, it was announced on Wednesday.
Martin, 36, played in six of the Dodgers’ twelve games this season, including an appearance as a reliever. So far this season, he is 5-for-15 with one home run and two RBIs.

Replacing Martin in the 25-man roster is Rocky Gale, who has been recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City. He has appeared in two games this season with the minor league Dodgers, going 2-for-6. Gale has played 17 games in the MLB, with two hits in 22 at-bats (.091 batting average).
Catcher Austin Barnes will get the start for the Dodgers in the Wednesday night game against the St. Louis Cardinals.
