Good morning, everyone! Who’s ready for a day game today?

Dodgers news

A day after hitting a walk-off homer to give the Dodgers the victory, Joc Pederson was at it again. He hit his eighth of the season, which puts him just one away from the NL lead. You know who he trails? His teammate, Cody Bellinger.

Alex Verdugo, who is sharing outfield time with Joc Pederson, had his first career three-hit game.

The Dodgers celebrated the life of Don Newcombe at Dodger Stadium, as they held a private memorial service for the former Dodger who passed away recently.

Around the league

  • The Phillies scored 14 runs on Tuesday, with TEN (10!!) coming in the first inning. Even crazier, they scored EIGHT (8!!) before an out was even recorded. You have to feel sorry for the people who bet the under in this one.
  • Chris Sale continued his early season struggles, allowing four runs to the Yankees to put his season ERA at 8.50. “This is flat-out embarrassing,” said Sale following his outing. “For my family, for our team, for our fans. This is about as bad as it gets. Like I said, I have to pitch better.”
  • Collin McHugh decided to go full matrix on us
  • Mike Minor threw a complete game for the Rangers. He shutout the Angels, striking out seven and allowing only three hits.
  • Check out this throw from Isaac Galloway!
