Dodgers injury update: 4/19/19

Martin and Hill will both make rehab assignments

Russell Martin (back)

Dodgers skipper Dave Roberts said Russell Martin is improving, according to MLB.com’s Ken Gurnick. On Apr. 10, Martin was placed on the 10-day injured list with lower back inflammation.

Though he is eligible to come off of the IL on Apr. 21, but will likely not recover in time to rejoin the Dodgers in their series against the Brewers. It has not been announced when Martin will make his rehab assignment.

Rich Hill (knee)

Rich Hill made his first rehab start on Wednesday. You can read more about his outing here.

Roberts said Hill will need to make another start in the minors. His outing will be on Monday, Apr. 22, per reports on Twitter. The start will either be with the Dodgers Triple-A or Double-A affiliates.

The Oklahoma City Dodgers will be playing the Iowa Cubs at home. The weather is expected to be 73 degrees and partly cloudy in OKC.

TheTulsa Drillers will be in Texas facing the Midland RockHounds. The forecast reads the weather in Midland will be 84 degrees and cloudy near the first pitch.
