Friday night saw Tulsa split a doubleheader, Rancho Cucamonga lose their second straight game and Oklahoma City’s game was suspended after 3½ innings.

Triple-A Oklahoma City

The Dodgers only played 3½ innings before their game against the Sounds (Rangers) was suspended due to rain. The game will be completed when the Sounds return to Oklahoma City for a series starting August 19th.

The Dodgers scored all of their runs in the third inning. Matt Beaty singled home the first run. Kyle Garlick continued his hot hitting with a two-run double.

Finally, Edwin Rios singled home Garlick to complete the scoring.

Daniel Corcino started and pitched two innings with three strikeouts. Luis Vasquez pitched the next two innings for the Dodgers and struck out five.

Double-A Tulsa

The Drillers split their doubleheader against the Travelers (Mariners) at Little Rock, Arkansas. The Drillers won the first game 7-4 but then lost 1-0 in the second game.

Dustin May started the first game and pitched four innings and struck out seven. Shea Spitzbarth pitched two scoreless innings to get the win.

Zach Reks had two hits including a three-run homer. Cody Thomas also homered.

In the second game, the Drillers were shutout and only had four hits. Parker Curry had a very good start with four scoreless innings and six strikeouts.

Cody Thomas had his second straight game with two hits.

Class-A Rancho Cucamonga

The Quakes fell behind early and lost 7-2 to the Rawhide (Diamondbacks) on Friday night at LoanMart Field.

Michael Grove started for the Quakes and did not get out of the first inning. He made 29 pitches and could only get two outs. He allowed four runs, four hits and walked one.

One highlight in the game was the rehab appearance from Dodger left-handed reliever Caleb Ferguson. The former Quake pitched one scoreless inning and struck out two and walked one.

Jeter Downs led the Quakes with three hits and scored both runs. Marcus Chiu had two hits.

Class-A Great Lakes

The Midwest League cancelled the series between the Loons and the Quad Cities River Bandits (Astros) due to the flooding in Davenport, Iowa. Because this was their last series against Quad Cities in the first half, these games will not be made up.

The Loons are off until Monday when they return home to host the Dayton Dragons (Reds).
