The San Diego Padres changed their Twitter handle from @Padres to @Madres on Mother’s Day. It was claimed by a fan, but in the end, the Padres were able to revert back to their Twitter handle.
Reds outfielder Yasiel Puig hit a home run off of San Francisco Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner. These two have some history with each other and there was some shade thrown after the game.
It was the major league debut for Phillies left-handed pitcher Cole Irvin on Mother’s Day and his mom was in the stands cheering him on. Irvin got the win.
Batters in Triple-A have been happy to make the change to using major league regulated baseballs. Or, at least that’s what the numbers say.
