Dodgers news...

The Dodgers made a bunch of moves on their off-day on Thursday. Read more on what went down here.

Every day is a good day for a Jackie Robinson story. Today’s is courtesy of Howard Bryant of ESPN.

Jansen insisted on throwing a cutter. With his 26th pitch, his 26th cutter, he struck out Dickerson. The Dodgers won, 2-0, finishing a nine-game homestand with their seventh win. They have the National League’s best record and three off days among the calendar’s next eight, including Thursday, when they fly to Cincinnati.

But Roberts struck a far from celebratory tone in his postgame press conference. There are things the Dodgers need to do better, he said. They are capable of playing “considerably better.” And, about his closer, he said there were conversations that needed to continue.

Around the league...

Christian Yelich is really good at hitting home runs. This time, it wasn’t at Miller Park. MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand delves into this subject.

Yankees’ third baseman Miguel Andujar will miss the rest of the season. SB Nation’s Pinstripe Alley has the story.

Braves’ top prospect Austin Riley homered in his second at-bat in the big leagues.
