It looks like the Dodgers will avoid a major scare, as Justin Turner isn’t expected to be placed on the injured list. He was taken out of last nights game with a left shin contusion. Luckily, the x-rays came back negative.
Dave Roberts said he doesn’t think Justin Turner will need to go on the injured list. The off days and extra guy on the bench give them some leeway. He said Turner is available to pinch-hit in a “big” spot today.

This is certainly great news for the team, as Turner could even be in the game today if need be. With depth and some off-days on the horizon, Turner and the Dodgers will be able to slowly bring him back until he’s 100 percent.
Turner has really been on a tear since the end of April. He’s hitting .333 with an OPS of over 1.000 since April 26. All six of his homers have come during this stretch as well.
Other news
- Matt Beaty makes his first career start today. He’s playing first base and hitting sixth
- Corey Seager is hitting cleanup
