MLB: Arizona Diamondbacks at Los Angeles Dodgers Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

A.J. Pollock spoke with the media on Monday for the first time since his surgery last week. Here’s the latest that we learned.

The good news, Pollock can return a lot earlier than initially expected. The bad news, we’ll have to wait at least six weeks for the next update.

With Pollock out for the next six weeks at least, expect Cody Bellinger, Joc Pederson, Alex Verdugo and Chris Taylor to see the bulk of playing time in the outfield.

Other news:

  • After pitching in three consecutive games, Kenley Jansen is unavailable out of the bullpen tonight
  • Cody Bellinger is back in starting lineup. According to manager Dave Roberts, he will stay in outfield for a while, avoiding playing first base. He injured his shoulder on Friday night while diving for a ball at first
