Dodgers pitching coach Rick Honeycutt underwent spine-fusion surgery on Feb. 12, but hasn’t let this affect his job. You can read more about this at the Los Angeles Times.

The MLB set a record for number of total home runs in a month, with 1,135 in May. MLB.com takes a little bit of a closer look at this stat.

MLB attendance is down, dipping below the 2003 average. The Associated Press (via ESPN) has the story.

Major League Baseball’s overall average of 26,854 through Wednesday is 1.4 percent below the 27,242 through this similar point last season, which wound up below 30,000 for the first time since 2003.
