The Class-A Great Lakes Loons have clinched a playoff spot in the Midwest League. This is the seventh time the Loons have made the postseason, and just the third time they clinched in the first half. They clinched with a 41-22 record with four games left in the half.

Of course, celebrations were in order.

The Loons will look to get their second Midwest League Championship since the team’s inception in 2007. The playoff schedule hasn’t been finalized, but they will take place after Labor Day.

On another note, the Midwest League All-Star rosters have been completed, and five Loons made the team. Jose Chacin (P), Austin Drury (P), Dillon Paulson (INF), Miguel Vargas (INF) and Niko Hulsizer will represent Great Lakes in the All-Star Game that will take place in South Bend on June 18.
