Julio Urías will get a spot start on Thursday in the series finale against the Giants, Dave Roberts announced on Wednesday.

The left hander will be making his fifth start of the season, his first since Apr. 18. The Dodgers are 2-2 when Urías starts this season. Overall, he has a 3-2 record and 3.05 ERA.

Caleb Ferguson and Ross Stripling will follow as relief pitchers.

This spot start will give the starting rotation an extra day of rest, as they are currently in an 18-game stretch. Walker Buehler will now pitch on Friday, Hyun-Jin Ryu on Saturday and Kenta Maeda on Sunday.

Pushing everyone over a day also makes way for Ryu to start the All-Star Game. His last turn in the rotation before the break would land on July 3, giving him five full days of rest before the ASG on July 9. The last time a Dodger started the ASG was Zack Greinke in 2015.
