All nine Dodgers minor league affiliates played on Saturday. Oklahoma City, Great Lakes and Ogden came out with victories while Rancho Cucamonga and Tulsa lost.
Triple-A Oklahoma City
The Dodgers scored double-digit runs in their victory of the Nashville Sounds on Saturday.
Mitchell White, who was activated from the 7-day injured list the day of his start, tossed 2 1⁄3 innings, allowing one run to score from two hits and two walks. He struck out five. Daniel Corcino replaced White in the third inning and earned the win for his contributions. He gave up four runs, but the Dodgers were able to compensate for this with their offense.
Cameron Perkins lit up the night, going 2-for-5 and knocking in four runs. He was also one of four Dodgers to get two hits on Saturday. The other three to join him were Connor Joe, D.J. Peters and Josh Thole.
Double-A Tulsa
The Drillers fell to the Arkansas Travelers on Saturday night in a pitchers’ duel. Tulsa struggled against Arkansas starting pitcher Justus Sheffield, who was absolutely dominant. Sheffield pitched eight innings, holding the Drillers to one run and two hits. He also struck out eight batters.
On the Drillers side, Parker Curry started and tossed four scoreless innings. He has been on and off the injured list all season, so his short innings outing is not unusual. Following Curry’s start came Michael Boyle, who also tossed two scoreless innings.
Edward Paredes and Ryan Moseley allowed one run each, contributing to the Drillers’ 2-1 loss. The offense didn’t help out, as they were held to two hits and one run.
Class-A Rancho Cucamonga
The Quakes lost in extras on Saturday, falling 6-4 to the Lancaster JetHawks. The JetHawks held the Quakes scoreless through the last nine innings of the contest.
Connor Strain earned the loss for allowing two runs (one earned) to score in the bottom of the 12th inning. He is now 0-2 this season.
Jeter Downs was the Quakes offensive player of the game, hitting two hits and driving in a pair of RBIs with a two-run homer.
Class-A Great Lakes
The Loons opened up a three-game set with the Fort Wayne TinCaps, winning the first contest in the ninth inning. It was a nail-biter at the end, as the TinCaps were just one base hit away from tying the game up. Fortunately for Joel Iona, the Loons reliever, the game ended in a double play, avoiding a walk-off.
Dillon Paulson went 3-for-4 on Saturday with two home runs. It was his 10th home run this season and the second multi-homer game of his minor league career. Jair Camargo also had himself a great night on offense, getting a pair of hits and driving in the winning run.
Jose Martinez pitched decently on Saturday. He went 4 1⁄3 innings and gave up three runs from eight hits and a walk.
Advanced Rookie Ogden
The Raptors defeated the Rockies on Saturday in a game whose score could easily be confused with a football game’s. The 19-8 game led the Raptors to their tenth win of the season.
Sam McWilliams was an RBI machine, driving in seven runs on Saturday. He hit two three-run homers and walked with the bases loaded to equal his seven RBIs. It was his first multi-homer game in the Dodgers organization.
Ricardo Hernandez tossed three scoreless innings to earn his first win of the season.
