The Dodgers placed infielder Matt Beaty on the 10-day injured list before their series finale with the D-Backs on Wednesday. The move is retroactive to June 3, in which he exited the game with a left hip flexor strain.
In the move, the Dodgers recalled outfielder Kyle Garlick. This will be the third time Garlick has been up with the big-league team this season. He’s only appeared in three games, and hasn’t collected his first major-league hit yet. It’s been a great year for him in the minors though, as he’s hitting .290 with 12 home runs for Oklahoma City. Over the course of his last eight games, he’s hitting .333 with two homers.
Beaty has appeared in 17 games with the Dodgers this year, splitting time between OKC and LA as well. He’s hitting .286 with seven runs driven in. His biggest role has come as a pinch hitter, where he’s third on the team with four pinch hits.
