Dodgers news...
Though it was an off-day, the Dodgers were still active. With Austin Barnes off the Injured List, LA sent catcher Will Smith back down to the minors.
Will Smith likely played his last game before being sent down today told me his biggest takeaway from his first time in big leagues “Confident now, I know I can play here, I know it’s where I belong, but it’s what the team decides...can’t control that.”

During his short tenure here, Smith hit .286 along with two homers, including a dramatic walk-off win over the Phillies.
Will Smith certainly isn’t pouting about the situation. Chose to take a 7:30 a.m. flight out of Phoenix so he could be active for tonight’s game in OKC. https://t.co/J2EeQI8JTi

If you haven’t already, give this article a read!
The Dodgers have the best record in baseball. If you’re a Dodgers fan, allow yourself to enjoy this time. Forget about the World Series last year and this year. Be a prisoner of the moment. Don’t be that person worrying about your Halloween plans in June. https://t.co/6s4ikfY74j

Around the league...
A day after free-agent Craig Kimbrel signed with the Cubs, another free-agent pitcher finally signed with a ball club...
Source confirms Dallas Keuchel has a one-year deal with the Braves which will pay him $13M over the remainder of the season. Physical set for Friday in Atlant & he'll pitch for the Triple-A club this weekend. @DOBrienATL was first on signing; @TBrownYahoo was first with terms.
