Zach Reks, Gavin Lux continue to hit homers

Los Angeles Dodgers Monday minor league report

Zach Reks homered in OKC’s Monday night loss.
Cody Roper - Oklahoma City Dodgers

It was home runs galore in the Dodgers minor league system, but only one of three full season affiliates earned a win and the rookie league teams went 1-2-1.

Triple-A Oklahoma City

The Dodgers scored first against the Cubs but ultimately fell 5-2.

Tony Gonsolin started on the mound for the Dodgers, pitching only 1 23 innings before being pulled. He allowed two earned runs from two hits and a walk while dealing three strikeouts. Since the Dodgers were down when he was replaced and they never regained the lead, he was credited with the loss.

Mitchell White came in during the 4th and pitched four innings. He allowed the other three runs to score, which raised his season ERA past the 6.00 threshold.

Zach Reks led the team in hits, going 2-for-4. He and Gavin Lux each hit a home run in the loss.

Double-A Tulsa

The Drillers had a day off as they traveled from Arkansas to Oklahoma. They will open a seven game home stand beginning on July 16.

Class-A Rancho Cucamonga

The Quakes dropped the series to the Stockton Ports with a 6-4 loss on Monday. They weren’t able to make many opportunities to score throughout the game.

Rancho Cucamonga only got six hits and earned three walks on the night and went 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position and left five runners stranded. Donovan Casey contributed to the Quakes offense with a solo shot in the 2nd inning for his 17th homer of the season.

Class-A Great Lakes

The Peoria Chiefs struck first but the Loons were the ones who ended up on top to take the series, two games to one.

Jose Martinez had one of his best starts to date. He pitched seven innings, allowing one run to score from six hits and one walk while delivering seven strikeouts. He brought down his ERA from 3.27 to 3.09 while maintaining his 1.07 WHIP.

It was Tre Todd’s first game back with the Loons after being shuffled around the organization. He went 1-for-5 and knocked in two RBIs. His one hit was a homer for his sixth of the season but his first with the Loons.

Advanced Rookie Ogden

The Raptors hit three home runs on the way to a 9-3 victory over the Missoula Osprey on Monday for their eighth straight win.

Jimmy Titus had a monster night, smashing a home run and a double to drive in four runs on the night. Andy Pages also had a multi-hit night with a home run and a base hit. Pages earned two RBIs.

Alfredo Tavarez pitched the Raptors to his first victory of the year. He pitched five innings and allowed two runs from two hits and one walk.
