Oklahoma City scored often, Tulsa did not produce much offense and Ogden just kept winning on Tuesday.
Triple-A Oklahoma City
Will Smith continued his power display as the Dodgers beat the Cubs 13-4 on Tuesday. In his first two appearances, Smith hit a two-run homer in the first inning to put the first two runs on the scoreboard.
And then in the second inning, Smith hit a grand slam to make it 6-0. Smith would later draw a bases-loaded walk for his seventh RBI of the game.
Gavin Lux is also still hot, he went 4-for-5 with his fourth home run with OKC. Edwin Rios also homered. Shane Peterson had three hits and Drew Jackson went 2-for-5.
Dennis Santana started and pitched six strong innings. He gave up three runs (one earned) and four hits. Santana struck out six and walked one.
Caleb Ferguson made his 11th straight scoreless appearance at OKC. On Tuesday, he struck out all three batters he faced, he now has 23 strikeouts against five walks in 13⅓ innings pitched.
Double-A Tulsa
The Drillers fell behind early and could not catch up as they lost 5-2 to the RoughRiders (Rangers) at home on Tuesday. Rob Zastryzny gave up all five runs (two earned) in six innings pitched. A throwing error by Omar Estevez set the table for the four-run fourth inning.
Meanwhile the Drillers could only manage four hits. They scored their runs on a Christian Santana sacrifice fly and a Cody Thomas fielder’s choice.
The Drillers remain in a tight race for the second-half playoff spot but have yet to separate themselves as their regular season will play on until Labor Day.
Class-A Rancho Cucamonga
The Quakes did not play on Tuesday. They will begin a series against the Giants at San Jose this evening.
Class-A Great Lakes
The Loons were off on Tuesday. They will host the LumberKings (Marlins) for a series starting tonight.
Advanced Rookie Ogden
The Raptors had a 7-1 lead after the top of the fifth and then held on to beat the Osprey (Diamondbacks) 9-6 at Missoula. Aaron Ochsenbein got a double play to shutdown the final rally and he recorded his first save at Ogden.
The win lowered the Raptors magic number to one as they get closer to clinching their division.
Sam McWilliams had three hits for Ogden, Sauryn Lao went 2-for-4 including his first home run.
