The Dodgers recalled right-handed pitcher Casey Sadler and placed right-handed pitcher Dylan Floro on the 10-day injured list with neck inflammation.
Sadler hopefully didn’t unpack his bags, as he was optioned yesterday in order to make room on the roster for Caleb Ferguson. This will be his second stint with the team after being recalled on Monday night.
He appeared in two games for the Dodgers, throwing 2 2⁄3 innings, allowing one run on two hits with two strikeouts. The righty has appeared in 11 Major League games this season, allowing five runs in 22 innings of work for a 2.05 ERA for the Tampa Bay Rays and the Dodgers.
This will be the first time in his career that Floro will be placed on the IL. He is 4-3 with a 4.11 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 37 games this season. He got off to a hot start early on, but has really struggled over the last few months. Since May 11, Floro has appeared in 21 games and has an ERA of 8.15. Opponents have hit .315 off him.
