More offensive explosions for Oklahoma City and Ogden while Rancho Cucamonga hangs on for a one-run at home.
Triple-A Oklahoma City
The Dodgers produced 19 hits on their way to a 16-1 victory over the Sounds (Rangers) at Nashville. Among those hits were five home runs, one apiece for Gavin Lux, Will Smith, Kyle Garlick, Edwin Rios and Zach Reks.
Dustin May pitched six scoreless innings to get the win. Since his promotion to Oklahoma City, the 21-year old right-hander has started four games, pitching a total of 21⅓ innings.
May has given up seven runs (six earned), 18 hits and walked 7 at OKC. He also has 18 strikeouts.
Every OKC batter had at least one hit. Kyle Garlick led the way with four hits. Connor Joe and Jake Peter each had three hits. Lux, Peters and Reks each collected two hits apiece.
Double-A Tulsa
The Drillers had Tuesday off, they will take on the RoughRiders (Rangers) for a series beginning this evening.
Class-A Rancho Cucamonga
The Quakes beat the 66ers (Angels) 4-3 on Tuesday at LoanMart Field behind solid pitching and two home runs. John Rooney started and pitched five innings to get the win.
Rooney gave up two runs and five hits. The 22-year old former 2018 third-round pick also struck out three and walked three.
In the fifth inning, with the score tied 2-2, Donovan Casey and Jeter Downs hit back-to-back home runs to put the Quakes ahead for good.
Casey and Downs also led the team with two hits apiece on Tuesday.
Class-A Great Lakes
The Loons were off on Tuesday, they will begin a series against the Dragons (Reds) tonight.
Advanced Rookie Ogden
An 18 hit attack gave the Raptors their 11-4 win over the Rockies. Kevin Malisheski continued to pitch well for Ogden. The 21-year old right-handed pitcher went six innings and gave up three runs and seven hits.
Malisheski also struck out eight and walked two.
Players from the 2019 draft also made an impact on Tuesday. Fourth-round pick Brandon Lewis had four hits including two home runs. Eighth-round pick Ryan Ward went 3-for-5. Tenth-round pick Zac Ching also had three hits. And 22nd round pick Jimmy Titus went 2-for-5.
Sam McWilliams and Andy Pages also collected two hits on Tuesday.
