Dodgers news ...

The Dodgers lost the Sunday afternoon game to the Braves on a grand slam. You can read the TBLA game recap here.

Chris Taylor and Kiké Hernández will most likely be activated from the injured list on Tuesday. Right on time for Hernández to celebrate his bobblehead night, which is on Aug. 22!

Around the league ...

Pete Alonso broke the NL rookie home run record yesterday with his 40th home run of the year. Cody Bellinger previously held this record with 39 home runs in 2017 and he was a really good sport about it.

Have you seen the Little League player with the crazy batting stance? Yeah, well Puig definitely saw it. And he imitated it. I miss him.

ESPN analyst Jessica Mendoza was involved in a car accident last week, resulting in her missing last week’s Sunday Night Baseball broadcast. She is doing better and is now doing coverage of the Little League World Series.

Speaking of the Little League World Series, the Pirates and Cubs played in the Little League Classic yesterday. It’s the annual game in Williamsport, Pennsylvania and the two teams both wore “little league” uniforms!

It was a fun day for baseball.
