The Drillers and Quakes had off-days

Gavin Lux - OKC Dodgers
Nick Wagner

Triple-A Oklahoma City

There were a combined 10 runs in the first two innings, but the Sounds were too much for the Dodgers, defeating them 11-5. After falling behind 6-0, OKC put four runs on the board to cut the deficit to two runs. That was the closest they’d be for the remainder of the game, as Nashville continued to pour runs on throughout the game.

Gavin Lux, to no surprise, had another two hits and drove in two runs. On the season with OKC, he’s hitting .417 with an OPS of 1.262.

J.D. Martin had a rough outing, allowing eight runs in his five innings of work. He also walked six as well.

Single-A Great Lakes

After falling behind 3-0 in the first inning, the Loons put up four runs in the fourth inning as they defeated the Cubs, 5-3. The Loons put together a two-out rally, as Justin Yurkchak singled to put runners on first and second. Chris Roller followed with a two-run single, tying the game at three a piece. Matt Cogen then doubled, bringing in two more runs to make it 5-3 Loons.

After a three-run first inning from the Cubs, the Loons’ pitching staff were able to hold South Bend in check for the remainder of the game. Over the course of the final eight innings, they allowed a combined two hits. Robinson Ortiz threw seven scoreless innings, striking out eight. Mark Washington followed with two hitless innings.

Short-season Ogden

The Raptors scored two runs in the 10th inning as they defeated the Vibes, 3-2. After the first two batters got out, Jorbit Vivas singled in a run. Brandon Lewis followed with a run-scoring single as well, giving them the 3-1 edge. The Vibes put a run across the board in the bottom half of the inning, but Jacob Cantleberry shut the door down and secured the win.
