The Dodgers made a plethora of roster moves on Tuesday afternoon, involving a total of six players.
They announced that they have activated Chris Taylor and Kiké Hernandez from the 10-day injured list and recalled right-handed pitcher Dylan Floro from Triple-A Oklahoma City. In order to make room on the 25-man roster, Kristopher Negrón was placed on the 10-day injured list with neck stiffness. On top of that, Kyle Garlick and Casey Sadler were optioned to OKC as well.
It’s been a while since the Dodgers have seen Taylor. He was placed on the injured list on July 15 with a left wrist fracture. Prior to being placed on the IL, he was hitting .261 with eight home runs and 41 RBI. Taylor was LA’s hottest bat at the time of his injury. Over his last 28 games, Taylor was hitting .333 with a .964 OPS.
Hernández was placed on the IL on July 29 with a left-hand sprain. Just like Taylor, Hernández was hot at the plate at the time of his injury. He was hitting .400/.488/.629 with two homers and nine RBI and 1.116 OPS in the month of July.
This will be the second time Floro has appeared with the big-league team since he was optioned on August 1. He’s appeared in six games with OKC, posting a 2.08 ERA. In 38 games with the Dodgers this season, he’s 4-3 with a 4.00 ERA.
Negrón, who was acquired from the Mariners at the end of July will hit the IL. In 15 games for the Dodgers, Negrón is batting .268 with two homers and seven RBI.
Kyle Garlick will go back to OKC, as his time in LA was short-lived this time around. In the five games he played for LA, he hit .364 with two doubles, one homer and two RBI. On the season, he has appeared in 30 games for the Dodgers, batting .250 with three home runs and six RBI.
The final player being moved is Sadler. He was recalled on Saturday, but did not appear in a game. He has appeared in nine games for the Dodgers, allowing one earned run over 12 1⁄3 innings with eight strikeouts.
