Kiké Hernández shines versus Padres

His bat was scorching hot

The Dodgers took two out of three from the Padres, and a large reason for their success was the offensive production from Kiké Hernández. Having recently returned from the Injured List, Hernández was arguably the hottest bat in San Diego.

During the series, he went 4-for-9, with four RBI, two walks, a stolen base, and three runs scored. He helped the Dodgers pick up the win in extras on Wednesday. After the first two batters got out, Hernández walked to represent the go-ahead run. He stole second base, and then came in to score the winning run on an error.

Not only was he swinging the bat great this series, but over his last 17 games he’s been arguably the hottest hitter in the lineup. Over that stretch, he’s hitting .400 with three homers and 15 runs driven in.

Going back even further, he’s hitting .340 over his last 34 games with an OPS of over 1.000. Quietly, Hernández has been one of the best hitters for LA over the second half of the season.
