Ross Stripling expected to make rehab start next week

LOS ANGELES — It looks as if Ross Stripling is nearing a return from the Injured List. He was placed on the IL on July 27 with right bicep tendinitis, though he exited his July 24 start due to neck stiffness.

He threw a 25-pitch bullpen session on Saturday afternoon in front of manager Dave Roberts. “He looked really good,” Roberts said. “The ball was coming out well. Rancho makes the most sense in a few days to do an up and down. He hasn’t missed a whole lot of time, so the build up is still there.”

They haven’t set a date yet for his rehab stint, but Tuesday is a possibility. Roberts is unsure of how many innings he wants to throw Stripling, but said we can see at least two and then some more work in the bullpen.
