All four full-season affiliates won on Thursday as those four head into their final regular season weekend of play. Rancho Cucamonga clinched the second-half division title so they have now won both halves for the second consecutive season.
Ogden did go down to defeat but they continue to have a very good season. Ogden may also win both halves of their regular season.
Triple-A Oklahoma City
The Dodgers got a nicely pitched game by Justin De Fratus as he and the Dodgers beat the Cubs 9-4 on Thursday. De Fratus pitched 6⅔ innings and gave up four runs (three earned) and eight hits. Josh Sborz and Dennis Santana also pitched.
DJ Peters went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI. Edwin Rios hit his 30th home run for Oklahoma City.
Gavin Lux walked twice and scored two runs.
Double-A Tulsa
The Drillers used the home run ball many times in their 14-9 win over the Sod Poodles (Padres) on Tuesday. Cody Thomas and Chris Parmelee each hit two home runs, Donovan Casey, Carlos Rincon and Jeter Downs had one home run apiece.
Downs has had quite a series against the Sod Poodles. In those three games, he is 6-for-14 with four home runs and six RBI.
We're guessing the Sod Poodles can't wait until Downs and the @TulsaDrillers leave town.
