It appeared like the Dodgers were going to be swept in the four-game series against the Diamondbacks, but the LA sluggers carried the team to a late-inning win.
The Dodgers were just two outs away from being swept before Cody Bellinger came in to save the day. He came up to the plate in the ninth with the Dodgers down by one run. The MVP candidate smashed home run No. 43 to tie the game, forcing the game to go into extra innings.
He came back to life at the most convenient time after a 12-game home run drought.

Joc Pederson’s game-winning 11th inning home run was an absolute monster.

It was Pederson’s 28th home run of the year, unlike what is shown in the SportsNet LA broadcast.
The two late-inning home runs came behind the two early-inning home runs. David Freese, who was activated from the injured list on Sunday, and Russell Martin each hit a home run to provide the Dodgers with a nice starting foundation.
When Ross Stripling exited the game after pitching three scoreless innings, he left a 2-0 lead to Dustin May.
May struck out the first batter he faced, but then allowed the next four batters get a base hit. In a scary moment, May was hit by a line drive on his head. This ball ricocheted off his head and into left field and caused two runs to score.
Scary moment here, but thankfully Dustin May walked off on his own power after being hit in the head by a line drive.

May passed a concussion test and it seems like he will be OK.
The Dodgers bullpen pitched extremely well. After Dustin May’s 1⁄3 inning appearance, seven pitchers combined to pitch 7 2⁄3 scoreless innings.
Báez earned his first career save for his 11th inning performance. It was a huge opportunity for the Diamondbacks to score since they sent their 2-3-4 hitters to the box. Petey struck out Tim Locastro for the first out of the inning and retired the next two batters in eight pitches.
