Nationals clinch wild-card berth with double-header sweep

The Nationals clinched a wild-card berth after sweeping a double-header and the Cubs continuing to lose games. The Cardinals played more innings than the Nationals in one game in their 19-inning walk-off loss to the Diamondbacks. That meant the Cardinals cannot celebrate a division win in Phoenix, their celebration, if any will have to take place at home.

Any possible postseason clinching?

The Twins can clinch the AL Central with a win and an Indians’ loss. The Brewers can clinch a postseason berth with a win or losses from both the Cubs and Mets.

Tiebreaker and home-field advantage status

The Dodgers clinched home-field advantage throughout the National League postseason.

The Braves will also have home-field advantage against the winner of the NL Central division.

The Astros and Yankees have both clinched home-field advantage in their respective Divisional Series.

National League Division Races

NL West - Dodgers clinched the division on Tuesday September 10th.

NL Central - Cardinals have a 2½ games lead over the Brewers (3)

NL East - Braves clinched the division on Friday September 20th

American League Division Races

AL West - Astros clinched the division on Sunday September 22nd.

AL Central - Twins have a 4 games lead over the Indians (2).

AL East - Yankees clinched the division on Thursday September 19th.

National League Wild-Card Race

Nationals clinched a wild-card berth on Tuesday September 24th, they lead the Brewers by one game
Brewers have a 5 games lead over both the Cubs (1) and the Mets (1)
The Phillies were eliminated from the playoffs on Tuesday September 24th
