Twins clinch AL Central while Brewers are in the playoffs

MLB: Minnesota Twins at Detroit Tigers Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

Five divisions now have champions as the Minnesota Twins won their first division title since 2010. The new AL Central champions were able to clinch the division when they won while the Cleveland Indians lost. The Twins are locked into playing the second-seeded AL division winner in the American League Divisional Series.

Meanwhile, the Brewers keep winning and with the Cardinals losing two straight, the Brewers could close to within a game if they win today. In any case, the earliest the NL Central race can be decided is Friday and that is only if the Brewers lose today.

But the Brewers did not accomplish something with their win on Wednesday, they clinched a playoff berth and thus eliminating the Cubs and Mets.
