The Dodgers announced this morning that infielder Justin Turner had won his appeal and he will not have to serve a one-game suspension.
MLB had issued the suspension to Turner for bumping home plate umpire Rob Drake after their game in San Diego on Monday August 26th. Both teams had issues with Drake’s strike zone but Turner said that on his third strike call, Drake said the pitch was down the middle.
After that, Turner said that Drake initiated contact with him and that Turner had tried to avoid any contact.
Nevertheless, MLB issued a one-game suspension that Turner immediately appealed.
Justin Turner won appeal and won’t serve a one-game suspension for bumping an umpire. Still gets an undisclosed fine.
