Our first podcast of the offseason has us catching up on Dodgers roster news, which has all been pretty expected and uneventful to this point. The main news came on Tuesday, with Cody Bellinger having surgery to stabilize his right shoulder, the same one he dislocated while celebrating his NLCS-winning home run in Game 7 against the Braves.
We also pick the destinations and contract for seven Dodgers free agents, so be sure to bookmark this and laugh at us when we are wrong.
Please send all of your questions to tblapodcast@gmail.com, or tweet us at @ericstephen or @jacobburch. Thanks as always to producer Brian Salvatore for making us sound presentable.
Dodgers rewind
This week’s rewind is of Kim Ng, who was hired last week as general manager of the Miami Marlins, after three decades of experience in baseball. Ng was with the Dodgers for 10 seasons (2002-11), as a vice president and assistant GM, and had a variety of roles with the team, including interim farm director, and handling salary arbitration.
Ng interviewed for the vacant Dodgers GM job in 2005 that eventually went to Ned Colletti. It was one of six known times Ng was interviewed for a GM vacancy, before the seventh time was the charm with the Marlins.
