Dodgers offseason roster moves 2020-21

Every transaction from the end of the World Series through the start of spring training

Here’s a full accounting for every Dodgers transaction involving a player on the 40-man roster from the end of the 2020 World Series through the start of 2021 spring training. Bookmark this page, as it will be updated throughout the offseason

October 28: Third baseman Justin Turner, outfielder Joc Pederson, infielder/outfielder Kiké Hernández, and pitchers Pedro Báez, Blake Treinen, Alex Wood, and Jake McGee became free agents.

October 30: Dodgers declined the $2 million club option for 2021 on pitcher Jimmy Nelson, instead paying him a $500,000 buyout and making hime a free agent.

October 31: Pinch runner and outfielder Terrance Gore cleared waivers and was sent outright to Triple-A, removing him from the 40-man roster.

November 2: David Price, who opted out of the 2020 season to be with his family during the pandemic, was activated from the restricted list.

November 20: Pitchers Gerardo Carrillo, Edwin Uceta, Andre Jackson, and outfielder Zach Reks were added to the 40-man roster.

December 2: Scott Alexander signed a 1-year, $1 million contract, avoiding salary arbitration.

December 2: Acquired pitcher Corey Knebel from the Brewers for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

December 11: Minor league pitcher Leo Crawford was sent to Milwaukee to complete the Knebel trade.

December 29: Acquired pitcher Garrett Cleavinger from the Phillies in a 3-team trade, sending minor league first baseman Dillon Paulson and a player to be named later or cash considerations to the Rays.

December 29: Signed pitcher Tommy Kahnle to a two-year, $4.75 million contract.

January 5: Re-signed pitcher Blake Treinen to a two-year, $17.5 million contract with a club option for 2023.

January 14: Avoided salary arbitration with Corey Knebel, signing him to a one-year, $5.25 million contract.

January 14: Avoided salary arbitration with Dylan Floro with a one-year, $975,000 contract.

January 15: Signed Cody Bellinger to a one-year, $16.1 million contract, avoiding salary arbitration.

January 15: Avoided salary arbitration with Corey Seager, with a one-year, $13.75 million contract.

January 15: Signed Julio Urías to a one-year, $3.6 million contract, avoiding salary arbitration.

February 10: Avoided salary arbitration with Walker Buehler, signing him to a two-year, $8 million contract.

February 11: Signed free agent Trevor Bauer to a three-year, $102 million contract. Pitcher Josh Sborz was designated for assignment.

February 12: Traded pitcher Adam Kolarek and minor league outfielder Cody Thomas to the A’s for infielder Sheldon Neuse and minor league pitcher Gus Varland.

February 12: Traded pitcher Dylan Floro to the Marlins for left-hander Alex Vesia and minor league pitcher Kyle Hurt.

February 14: Signed catcher Austin Barnes to a 2-year, $4.3 million contract, avoiding salary arbitration.

February 16: Traded Josh Sborz to the Rangers for minor league pitcher Jhan Zambrano.

February 19: Signed third baseman Justin Turner to a 2-year, $34 million contract. Placed pitcher Caleb Ferguson on the 60-day injured list.
