The offseason is already in full swing, as a former Dodger found a new team. No, it wasn’t a free-agent signing or a trade, it was in regards to the coaching staff. First base coach George Lombard agreed to become the new bench coach for the Detroit Tigers.
The Detroit Tigers today announced three additions to the Major League coaching staff:

Lombard, 45, was considered by the Tigers to be their next manager. Ultimately, Detroit opted to go with a man who knew his team was cheating. Nonetheless, this is a promotion for Lombard, as many expect him to become a manager soon.
This was the first coaching gig for him, as he’s spent the last five seasons coaching first base for LA.
It’ll be interesting to see who the Dodgers bring in as their next first base coach.
