To say that Twitter (as well as the rest of the internet) was going crazy yesterday is a massive understatement. I, myself, could not contain myself.
And it was all because of this tweet:
BREAKING: The Los Angeles Dodgers have agreed to a deal with the Boston Red Sox that would send star outfielder Mookie Betts and starter David Price to the Dodgers, sources familiar with the deal tell ESPN. Deal is pending medical reviews.
— Jeff Passan (@JeffPassan) February 5, 2020
But then there were several other tweets from several other reporters that had some conflicting information.
Nonetheless, there were tons of different emotions among Dodgers fans. Some were excited, others were disappointed, many were confused ... and everything in between.
While all these reactions are both completely rational and totally O.K. for folks to feel, let’s take a look at some of my favorite tweets from the past 24 hours.
Cue the chaos.
Mr. Walker Buehler tweeted this 19 minutes after the news broke. Mind you, he isn’t a big Twitter guy, so my best guess is that this is about the trade news.

And although we don’t know the details of this trade, this one made me chuckle.

Blake is getting a shout out for this one.

Some Yankees fans were also celebrating, even though this trade has almost nothing to do with them.

Cody Bellinger posted something on Instagram earlier today—an appreciation post for his now-former teammates.
Although no teams have confirmed these reports yet, if Jeff Passan, Ken Rosenthal and every other baseball journalist confirmed it, it’s as good as true. We just aren’t sure about the specifics.
It’s been an eventful few days and there is a lot to be excited about. Put some sunglasses on, Dodgers fans! 2020 looks bright.
