I began yesterday’s countdown talking about Matt Kemp climbing the fence to rob a home run, and whether or not that actually happened.
Well, this is a bobblehead based on something that actually happened.
Coming in at No. 9 is this bobblehead given away on May 9, 2018. So far, Justin Turner has had four bobblehead giveaways, with his fifth coming up in 2020. If you include the limited edition “5K Run bobblehead”, he’ll have a total of six. However, this is my favorite.

If you’re a Dodgers fan, you don’t need a history lesson as to what historic moment in team history this is from.
On October 15, 2017, Justin Turner hit a walk-off three-run home run off John Lackey to give the Dodgers the 4-1 win. This put LA up 2-0 in the NLCS vs. the Cubs.
Recently, the Dodgers have begun honoring historic moments in team history with bobbleheads, and this is one of the more accurate ones. They absolutely nailed everything with this.
Let’s begin with the pose, as it perfectly captures Turner flinging his index fingers in the air as he gets ready to round first base. His mouth wide open, as he’s screaming in excitement. I do think they could have made his beard a little longer, because look at how out of control that beard was, remember that?

Overall, I think it’s a nearly spot-on bobblehead that captures one of the best moments in recent memory for the Dodgers. Although they were in the World Series, this will likely be the moment a lot of people will remember when looking back on LA’s playoff run from 2017.
