Yes, you can bet on Gavin Lux in the ‘MLB The Show’ Players League

Lux has won 7 of his first 8 games.

Dodgers infielder Gavin Lux, their consensus top prospect and one the top prospects in baseball, will ply his wares on Thursday night against two All-Stars, including a Cy Young Award winner.

Not in actual baseball, mind you, but of the video game variety. Given that we are starved for sports entertainment, this can scratch that itch. Lux is 7-1 in the early going in the MLB The Show Players League, even though “they have no respect on my juice.”

Lux didn’t get thrown out at second, and he didn’t quit the league, so he has four more video games — three innings each — Thursday against Joey Gallo (thus far the only undefeated player, at 8-0), Blake Snell (6-2), Bo Bichette (7-1), and Ryne Stanek (2-6).

The games will begin at 6 p.m. PT, and will be streamed live on Lux’s Twitch account.

In Lux’s cluster of games on Thursday, the three best records in the league are in action in Gallo, Bichette, and Lux, plus Snell is right behind them at 6-2. The regular season for the Players League is a round robin with each team playing 29 games, playing every other team once.

Lux on Wednesday won all four of his games, beating Fernando Tatis Jr., Carlos Santana, Jesus Luzardo, and Hunter Pence.

And if the fact that these are video games in lieu of real baseball isn’t enough to fulfill your sports fix, you can also gamble on the MLB The Show Players League, too.

The folks at BetOnline have odds on who will win the Players League, with Lux at 14/1 odds to win it all. The top three favorites are all Lux opponents on Thursday night.
