It all comes down to this. Game 7.

After winning game 6, the Mets and Dodgers are tied at three games a piece in the 1988 National League Championship Series. Whoever wins the game tonight will move on to face the Oakland Athletics in the World Series.

The Dodgers’ offense was non-existent in game 6, as they scored only one run on five hits. They had no answer for David Cone, who threw a complete game for New York. Kevin McReynolds was the difference maker, as his three-run homer in the fifth inning put the game out of reach for LA.

Tonight, the Dodgers will turn to their ace, Orel Hershiser, with the hopes he can send Los Angeles to their first World Series since 1981. The Mets will counter with Ron Darling.
