Mookie Betts pays tribute to Kobe Bryant

Yesterday would have been Kobe Bryant’s 42nd birthday. The tributes came in from all across the sports world. One of the more notable ones came from Mookie Betts, who shared this on Instagram.

“Our last conversation was “I will see you when I get to LA”. Happy Birthday to a real life super hero Kobe “Bean” Bryant!!!”

My biggest takeaway here is that he said he talked with Kobe about seeing him when he got to Los Angeles. Well, Betts was traded to the Dodgers a few weeks after Kobe’s death. So, how far in advance did Betts know he would be a Dodger?
