Do the Dodgers need to trade for starting pitching?

The trade deadline is tomorrow

The trade deadline for the MLB is on Monday, and this might be the quietest deadline in years for the Dodgers for a number of reasons.

No. 1, with the way this season and year has been, teams may be a little more hesitant to trade players and move them to different parts of the country during this pandemic. No. 2, well, the Dodgers don’t really need anything.

Over the years, there seems to always have been a need for the Dodgers. Manny Machado, Yu Darvish and all the other smaller moves they’ve made, Andrew Friedman and Co have always been active at the deadline.

Will the Dodgers make a move this year? That remains to be seen.

If LA were to make a move, you’d think it might be for starting pitching. The Dodgers have the first two spots of their playoff rotation filled with Clayton Kershaw and Walker Buehler. After that? Your guess is as good as mine.

Ross Stripling has struggled this year, so has Julio Urias. Alex Wood is still hurt. Tony Gonsolin and Dustin May have been great, but will Dave Roberts use them in his starting rotation? There are a lot of question marks. Again, this rotation is fine and I’d be okay with the Dodgers entering October with these guys.

There aren’t really any names out there they could acquire, at least that we know of. There were some rumblings of Lance Lynn being a potential player the team could acquire.

The Dodgers handed him his first loss of the season on Saturday night, potentially lowering his trade value?

He’d be a decent arm to acquire, but I don’t think he’d be the difference maker in the Dodgers winning a World Series this year.

What do you all think? Do the Dodgers need to try and acquire an additional starter at the trade deadline?
