Will the Dodgers make a move before tomorrow’s trade deadline? When asked about it, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts didn’t sound like it was likely to happen.
Dave Roberts said any trade that would interest the Dodgers "has to be something that moves the needed," indicating a short-term rental doesn't qualify.

The trade deadline is very interesting this year, as I discussed in my article from earlier this morning. You’re trading for a player you could have for fewer games, and in the middle of a pandemic sure doesn’t make it any easier. Plus, the Dodgers don’t really need any additions to this team.
News and notes
- Justin Turner is feeling better today. He’ll get more treatment tomorrow. According to Roberts, the best-case scenario is to see him DH on Tuesday.
- There isn’t a return date yet for reliever Pedro Baez. He last pitched on August 19, but is currently on the Injured List with a right groin strain
- Walker Buehler threw about 35 pitches during his bullpen session yesterday. His blister was uncovered. There still isn’t a date for when we can see him make his next start
