The Dodgers made a series of roster moves before Wednesday’s series finale in San Diego, including Joc Pederson being placed on the family medical emergency list.

Dave Roberts before the game would not divulge what potential roster move was coming, so we don’t have any details as to why Pederson is missing other than that it is a family medical emergency. Per MLB rules, the minimum stay on that list is three days with a maximum of seven days.

In addition, Caleb Ferguson was placed on the injured list with a left elbow injury, though further details are not yet known.

Ferguson left Tuesday night’s game after facing just one batter, feeling something in his elbow. He was getting his MRI Wednesday morning as manager Dave Roberts was speaking with reporters.

Zach McKinstry was recalled, the second major league stint for the utility man who was added to the Dodgers’ 40-man roster in November. McKinstry was called up on Aug. 5, though he didn’t play and was optioned the next day. His next appearance will be his major league debut.

Josh Sborz was recalled, one day after getting optioned, to replace Ferguson in the bullpen, giving the Dodgers 11 relief pitchers, a number that includes Joe Kelly, who was activated Wednesday after serving his five-game suspension.

The Padres also made a transaction before the series finale, reinstating catcher Francisco Mejía from the injured list. San Diego optioned outfielder Abraham Almonte to make room on the active roster.
