News and notes
- Joe Kelly threw to hitters yesterday, and was “very encouraging” according to Dave Roberts. Kelly will throw again tomorrow. The plan for Kelly is to hopefully get him at least four or five outings out of the bullpen before the season ends.
“If he’s healthy, I don’t see why he can’t get him activated,” Roberts said. “We’re certainly better with him than without him.”
- It looks like we’re getting closer to seeing Pedro Baez return from the Injured List. The plan is for him to throw an inning and around 20 pitches Wednesday. If that goes well, it’s expected that he’ll be activated sometime later this week.
- Joc Pederson has been placed on the paternity list. The maximum number of games he can miss is three. The Dodgers have an off-day on Friday, so Roberts is expecting Pederson back out there on Saturday.
