Best moments of 2020: Mookie vs. Mookie

A battle of the amazing Mookie Betts moments

I believe that we had our closest battle in our previous matchup. Will Smith and his five-hit game in the postseason took down Mookie Betts and his three-homer game in the regular season. If there’s anything I’ve gotten from these polls, it’s the fact that postseason moments tend to have the upper-hand.

Smith received 69 percent of the vote here on TBLA. It was actually VERY close on Twitter. This was the closest finish we’ve seen so far. Smith still came out on top, but he took in only 55 percent of the votes.

Here’s an updated look at the bracket:

Mookie’s amazing catch in Game 7

Mookie Betts is very good at baseball. It’s evident considering he’s battling himself today. Our first play gives us one of his many incredible catches from 2020. However, none were bigger than this one. In Game 7 of the NLCS, Betts robbed Freddie Freeman of a home run. It would have put Atlanta up 4-2, and who knows where the game could have gone from there. Instead, it remained a one-run game and the Dodgers came back to win the series.

Mookie Betts’ HR gives Dodgers cushion in Game 6

Not only does he do it with the glove, he does it with the bat as well. In Game 6 of the World Series, the Dodgers were leading by only a run. They were three outs away from winning it all. In the bottom of the eighth inning, Betts decided to give the Dodgers a little extra room for comfort, as he hit a solo shot to put them up two runs.
