The Dodgers return home to continue the NLDS after they evened the series with a lopsided 9-2 win over the Giants Saturday. Game 3 will feature an old friend on the mound for the Giants and for the Dodgers, the ace they acquired for moments just like this.

By winning Game 2, the Dodgers flipped home field advantage to themselves. The series is now a best-of-three with two games at Dodger Stadium, the first of which will feature Max Scherzer against Alex Wood.

Coverage starts at 6:00 p.m. PT on TBS, running up to the 6:37 p.m. start.

Scherzer didn’t have his best stuff in the wild card game last week and still managed to hold a hot Cardinals club to one run in 4 13 innings pitched. After working through some issues with his lower-half mechanics, the 37-year old believes the issues are behind him.

The Giants haven’t really seen Scherzer this season, even though he did start one game against them. Scherzer left the game (June 11) after just one batter, suffering a groin injury.

Not only do the Dodgers have the familiarity of seeing Wood pitch for them in five of the last six seasons, they’ve also faced the left-hander three times in 2021. Wood allowed nine runs over 17 innings and the Giants lost all three of those games.

ESPN Radio has the national radio call, with Jon Sciambi and Kyle Peterson calling the Dodgers-Giants NLDS. AM 570 has the local radio broadcast, with Charley Steiner and Rick Monday.
