For the second year in a row, the Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves are playing in the National League Championship Series, the third October matchup between these two squads in the last four years.
For SB Nation, I previewed the NLCS with the great Kris Willis from Talking Chop.
We hit on the incredible familiarity between these two teams, both from playing in so many Octobers of late, but also Joc Pederson (and Terrance Gore! Plus Dodgers legend Travis d’Arnaud, who I forgot to bring up) part of a re-vamped Braves outfield, plus Max Scherzer and Trea Turner playing Atlanta so much as members of the Nationals.
Both pitching staffs come into the NLCS hot. The Dodgers allowed only 10 runs in five games to the Giants, while the Braves gave up just six runs in four games in beating the Brewers.
The NLCS starts on Saturday in Atlanta, with Game 1 set for 5:07 p.m. PT, with the entire series televised by TBS. Be sure to listen to this podcast before then, to prepare you for Dodgers-Braves.
